PROCEDURES and EXPECTATIONS
What you ALWAYS need (Daily Supplies) :
- AN OPEN MIND EXCITED TO LEARN
- 3 or 5 subject notebook
- Expo marker
- Sharpened pencil
- Folder
- Graph paper
- TI-84 Calculator
How we keep everyone cool and calm (Classroom Rules) :
- Respect of yourself and ALL others around you. Mean behavior and attitudes are not welcome in this classroom.
- A learning mindset. Don't you want to see your brain grow?
- A willing spirit. We all fail. Let's learn to do it well and to grow from the times that it happens.
- A hard-working attitude. Nothing was ever accomplished by sitting back. Be active in your attitude and participation!
A typical week (Routine):
- Homework is given Monday- Thursday
- Tests are always announced. Formal assignments are 70% of your grade and will never be a surprise. HOWEVER, FORMAL DOES NOT JUST MEAN TESTS!
- Quizzes are sometimes announced, but not always. I will often quiz as the warm-up to assess current knowledge and to help direct the lesson. These are informal unless otherwise stated and they account for 30% of your grade. HOWEVER, INFORMAL DOES NOT JUST MEAN QUIZZES!
- Need some extra help?
- There will be a Monthly Math assignment for a FORMAL grade EVERY month!
- Late assignments get 10 points off per day that they are late.
- Absent? Oh no! IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO GET YOUR MAKE-UP WORK FROM THE OVERFLOW BIN AND THE NOTES YOU MISSED FROM A CLASSMATE!

Formal Retake Policy:
CMS has a retake policy that allows any student to retake a Test (anything that is in the formal category of Powerschool), but there are some rules that they have to follow. Here are the rules:
1. Students can only retake a test if they have made an 79 or below, but the highest grade they will receive on the retake is a 79.
2. From the time Mrs. Lack gives back a test, the student has 7 days (this includes weekends) to return their test with test corrections. Students corrections must be complete and must not have any question marks on it.
Test corrections can be done during tutoring times or with someone else. I highly recommend doing the corrections with someone who knows what they are doing. If not, students will make the same mistakes on the retake tests.
3. Mrs. Lack will review the corrections and give them back the next day.
4. Retake tests will be taken on Thursdays: mornings (room ), lunch (room ) or afternoons (room ).
If taking the test during lunch, please obtain a pass from Mrs. Lack to come to her room during lunch. Also, bring your lunch to her room so you may eat and complete the test at the same time.
If taking the test after school, please be at the testing room by 2:25. You will only have until 3:25 to complete the test.
5. Once you have started the test on a Thursday, it must be completed by the end of the day on Thursday. You have three different times to take the test and may use all three times or only one time.
Here is a list of when the tests were handed back and when the corrections are due:
